Parks and nature, within cycling distance from the hotel

The forests in the surrounding area are certainly worth visiting. The Clingendael estate, located between The Hague and Wassenaar, is a beautiful park with a rich history. It’s a beloved spot for walking and enjoying the scenic water features. The park also houses a Japanese garden, which opens only a few weeks each year due to the fragile nature of its plants.

If you cycle from the hotel to Park Clingendael, you will first pass through the Haagse Bos (Hague Forest). This is one of the oldest forests in the Netherlands and among the few ancient forests that were not cleared during medieval times. Situated in the heart of The Hague, it stretches from the city center to Huis ten Bosch, the king’s residence. The area boasts rich flora and fauna, ensuring there's always something interesting to see or hear.

A bit further away, but still within cycling distance, lies Landgoed De Horsten. This estate comprises several former country estates and is known for being privately owned by the royal family; King Willem-Alexander previously resided here at villa Eikenhorst. Parts of the estate are accessible to the public and offer beautiful walking routes. The teahouse "De Horsten" is a popular spot for visitors to pause and relax.

Cycling routes are available at the reception.
